Construction to begin in 2026 with plans to complete the project in two years.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The developer for the new surf park officially closed on the 45-acre site in Jacksonville’s eTown community that would bring big waves to the city.
The deal was finalized between Aventuur, a Los Angeles-based surf park developer, and local partners, including multi-generational developers, engineers and contractors.
“Jacksonville has always been a city that embraces the surf and coastal lifestyle, and the surf park community will elevate that connection to the next level, providing a world-class destination for residents and visitors, while driving economic growth for the city,” Jacksonville Surf Park general partner Lockwood Holmes said.
The park at 11374 Etown Parkway is part of a 237-4-acre development southwest of Florida 9B and Interstate 295 interchange.
A 5.5-acre Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon anchors the park, which features a surf academy, hotel, wellness center and clubhouse. The facility also includes dining, retail and event spaces.
The developers plan to use sustainable building materials and preservation methods throughout construction.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with the park expected to open in early 2028.
