Tom Rubel

Tom is focused on developing world-class surf parks for Aventuur in the United States of America and Mexico.

Prior to joining Aventuur, Tom led the development and construction teams at Irongate focused on the delivery of Costa Palmas, a 1,500 acre luxury residential community on the East Cape of Cabo, Mexico, incorporating the Four Seasons Los Cabos, Amanvari hotel and residences, wellness facilities, leading restaurants, a Robert Trent II golf course, private members club and over US$750mm of residential product. Tom also led the development of the second tower of the Ritz Carlton in Waikiki and has worked a range of mixed-use construction projects in North America, including on-site construction management of the One World Trade Center in New York.

Tom is a former Scout Sniper and Sniper Instructor with the United States Marine Corps and served two combat tours of duty in Fallujah and Ramadi, Iraq. After his military career, Tom studied at Harvard University and played on the Varsity Lacrosse team. He also taught 8th grade math and science as part of the Teach for America program, educating under-served students in Oahu, Hawaii.

Tom lives in Austin, TX but travels frequently to Mexico, Hawaii and LA and is an avid surfer, kite surfer and outrigger canoe paddler.
